About
My name is Sara. (This is Whimsi.)
I’m a fairly average 20-something college graduate. This is my personal website: a blog, some pictures, and a lot of pointless ramblings.
…But you’re probably here to hear more about me & the Peace Corps — so these are the relevant details:
- I began the application process in October 2007. I was interviewed and nominated (for TEFL, February 2008, Sub-Saharan Africa) shortly thereafter.
- I was cleared on Dental & Medical by Christmas 2007, but complications pushed my nomination back to June.
- In January 2008, I accepted an invitation to teach ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) in Ghana, departing in June.
- On June 10th, 2008, I arrived in Ghana to begin Pre-Service Training.
- On August 19th, 2008, I was sworn in as a Peace Corps Volunteer, and began my two years of service.
As of today, I am living in Ghana, teaching ICT at a Secondary School somewhere in the Central Region.
If you like what you see here, feel free to send care packages… because nothing says “You rock, Sara!” like an unexpected parcel from the US of A (or wherever you might be). Alternatively, drop me an email. See the “Contact” page for details.
That’s all. Thanks for visiting.
